3DA, SWAZILAND (Update)
To celebrate the 75th Jubilee of the Irish Radio Transmitters Society (IRTS), a
group of IRTS members are planning a "AFRI75 Dxpedition 2007" to Swaziland
between March 16-25th. Activity for this DXpedition will also cover St.
Patrick's Day and the CQWW WPX SSB Contest. The callsigns to be used will be
published as soon as available. The DXpedition's leader is IRTS Vice President
Paul Martin, EI2CA (3DA0PM). Currently, the following members have signed up for
the DXpedition: Peter/EI7CC (3DA0PB), Aidan/EI8CE (3DA0AM), David/EI4DJ/GI4FUM
(3DA0DG), Rory/EI4DJB (3DA0RH), Brendan/EI3GV (3DA0GV) and Pete/GI4VIV (3DA0GI)
A private UK/Ireland YAHOO newsgroup for this DXpedition is available at:
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/AFRI75/
Admission to this group is by request only and is at the discretion of the group
moderators. Skeds may also be requested to any of the DXpedition members.
Operation will be on all bands with particular attention given to the WARC
bands, digital modes and the LF bands. It is also hoped to have some activity on
EME, 2m and 6m. QSL Manager for all callsigns is via EI7CC and cards may be sent
direct or by the bureau. Also, please visit the IRTS Web page which will be
updated with information on a regular basis at:
http://www.irts.ie/cgi/afri75.cgi
A log search facility will be updated on a daily basis.

Saad, N5FF, will once again be active as YK1BA. He is expected to arrive in
Damascus during the evening of April 9th and should be active between April
10-27th, before returning home to Texas on the 28th. Saad informs OPDX,
"As usual, the purpose of the trip is not a DXpedition, so my operating will
be spotty. However, I hope to be able to operate at least 3-4 hours a day.
With the current band conditions and my typical operating times, I suspect
that I will spend most of my radio time on 30, 40, and 80 meters. However, I
will operate on whatever band (80-10m) and mode that have the best propagation
at the time. Most probable operating times are between 2000-2300z or between
0200-0500z, and possibly some occasional activities between 1200-1400z. I will
be active on SSB, CW, and RTTY."
QSL via N5FF.
