Solar flare activity was very low all week.
Geomagnetic activity observed for the Australian Region was quiet to unsettled on 14th, 18th and 19th; quiet to active on 15th and 20th; and quiet on 16th and 17th.
Southern Australian Ionospheric F2 critical frequencies were near predicted levels over the period.
Forecast for 21st to 27th March
Solar activity should be very low.
Geomagnetic activity should see active levels 26th to 28th, and quiet to unsettled on other days.
Frequencies should be briefly depressed after local dawn 26th to 28th and
near predicted monthly values on other days.

The Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin No. 850 - excerpts
3D2, FIJI (IOTA Op)
Eddie/VK4AN and his son Raj/VK4FRAJ, and possibly others will be active as 3D2A
or possibly 3D2EE from Malolo Lailai Island, in the Mamanuca Group (OC-121),
between May 17-31st. Activity will be on 160-6 meters including 30/17/12m, CW,
SSB, PSK31 and RTTY. They also plan to be in the CQ WW WPX CW Contest (May
24-25th). QSL direct/bureau/LoTW.
3W, VIETNAM (IOTA Op)
Remember to look for Jack, F6BUM, to be active again as 3W3M from March 20th and
April 2nd. Activity will be CW and SSB on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10 meters using only
100 watts into a vertical antenna. He plans to activate the following IOTAs:
AS-185 (new one) - Con Co Island; March 20th (1000z) to March 23rd (0600z)
AS-128 - Phu Quoc Island; March 25th (0800z) to March 28th (0600z)
AS-130 - Dao Con Island; March 29th (1000z) to April 2nd (0600z)

5T, MAURITANIA
The German team of operators are now active as 5T5DC from Nouakchott until March
30th. They plan to be active in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 29-30th) as a
Multi-? entry. Operators mentioned are: DH7WW, DK8YY, DL2ARD, DL2JRM, DL3JJ,
DL4JS, DL5SE, and DL7ZZ. QSL via DH7WW, direct or by the DARC Bureau.
9A60, CROATIA
Members of the Radio Club "Varazdin" (9A1HDE/9A7A) will be active as 9A60A from
March until the end of this year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their
Radio Club. First activity is scheduled to take place during the CQ WW WPX SSB
Contest (March 29-30th). QSL via 9A7A.
9X, RWANDA (Update)
By the time you read this, the multi-national DXpedition team scheduled to be
active as 9X0R should be on the air until March 27th. The 9X0R team plans to
have at least 3 stations on the air on 160-10 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via

A7, QATAR
Bill, NM7H (A7/G0MKT, G0MKT, and YI9WF), will be going back to Qatar soon and
will again be operating as A7/G0MKT. He tells OPDX that he should be on the air
by April 1st or sooner depending on when his gear arrives and will leave Qatar
around mid-June 2008. Activity will be mostly CW on 40-6 meters, but he will
also be on PSK and SSB occasionally. Bill states,
"I do not know what my operating schedule will be yet but hopefully I will be
on the air several times per week."
QSL via NM7H, either direct or by the bureau. Upon his return from Qatar to his
home in Nebraska, Bill will be sending out QSL cards for 100% of non-contest
QSOs via the ARRL Outgoing QSL Bureau. He will also QSL direct for those
individuals who want a card direct. Bill's wife will forward his mail a few
times while he is gone or individuals can also send him an E-mail for his direct
address while in Qatar. You can find his E-mail address on (QRZ.com).
BY, CHINA
Red, W6ALC, is expected to stay in China for three weeks beginning March 17th. He
has received permission to operate from the B7P contest station Foshan City in
southern China near Guangzhou City. He also plans to visit the new club station
BY7OK, also in Foshan.
CE0Z, JUAN FERNANDEZ ISLANDS
Ulli, DL2AH, continues with his Pacific Island tour this week and is expected to
be active as CE0Z/DL2AH from Robinson Crusoe Island in the Juan Fernandez group
(SA-005) between March 18th and April 7th. Activity will be mostly RTTY and SSB
on 40-10 meters using a FT-897 and a windom antenna. QSL via DL2AH, direct
(using the (QRZ.com) address) or by the bureau.
D4, CAPE VERDE
Operators Fabio/I4UFH, Cortesi/IZ4DPV and Antonio/CT1DVV will be active as D4C
from March 20th and April 2nd. Activity will include the CQ WPX SSB Contest

EL, LIBERIA
Operators Bruno/HB9BEI and Chris/HB9AUZ are expected to be active as EL8BK (CW
and Digital) and EL8CB (CW). Bruno will arrive first on March 16th, followed by
Chris on March 30th. Both operators will stay for a month. They will only
operate during their spare time on various HF bands. Hopefully, more details
will be forthcoming.
JD, MINAMI TORISHIMA (OC-073)
Masa, JA6GXK, will once again be active as JD1BMM from March 17th to April 7th.
His activity is usually limited to his spare time, but he will be on the HF
bands, CW, SSB and the Digital modes. QSL via JD1BMM.
MMAA 2007 RESULTS
Ed, PY4WAS, President of the CWJF, informs OPDX that on March 17th, at 2100z,
the CWJF Web site will publish the results of the 2007 Manchester Mineira All
America CW Contest at:

The CWJF group hopes amateur radio operators will participate in this year's
event.
SPECIAL EVENT
To commemorate the 96th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, special event
station W0S will be aired April 12th and 13th. Operators Dave "SAP"
Beckler/WA0SAP, Rich Vogt/KB9YZE, Al Gallo/W0ERE, and Rod Kittleman/K0ADI
organized this special event station along with Mary Kellogg, part owner of the
World's Largest Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri. They will be active on the
HF bands, SSB/CW, packet, Dstar and 2m. QSL via operator's instructions. You can

SX5, DODECANESE (EU-001)
Members of the Radio Amateur Association of Greece will be active as SX5C from
the rocky islet Strogili (GIOTA DKS 001) at the end of July. Operators mentioned
are: Cliff/SV1JG, Spiros/ SV1RC, George/SV1RP, Nikiforos/SV1EEX,
Theodoros/SV1GRM, Sotirios/SV1HER and Daniel/SV1JCZ. The group will also
activate the lighthouse on the islet named Ipsili (WLOTA L-0237 and ARLHS
GRE-053) between July 25th and August 4th. More details are forthcoming, but
there is talk about EME, and the team is looking for donations for their
operation (like 2m power amplifiers/longer beams etc.). If you can help, please

T8 & V6, PALAU AND MICRONESIA (QSL Correction)
Members of the Yamato Club (JA1ZEK) will be active from Yap Island (OC-012)
between April 9-16th. Look for the following operators to sign: Sasi/JA1KJW
(V63JQ), Mat/JA1JQY (V63JY) and Kuni/JA8VE (V63VE). The group will then move to
Palau (OC-009) and be active from April 16-19th as T88KJ (JA1KJW), T88VE (JA8VE)
and T88JY (JA1JQY). Activity will be on the HF bands, CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL
T88VE via JA8VE (not JF1OCQ as first reported), and V63VE via JF1OCQ. QSL all
others to their home callsign, direct or by the bureau.
TL, CENTRAL AFRICA (Op cancelled)
A very disappointed Dave, W1DV, has announced that his activity as TL8DV (which
was to take place in late March/early April for 8-9 weeks) has been scrubbed.
Details why were not provided. He did state, "It appears as though this is a
long-term postponement, not a cancellation. As (if) plans develop for our future
trip(s) to TL8, I will of course let you know. Jean and I are disappointed in
this turn of events, but there is nothing we can do about it. More to follow."
TO1, MARTINIQUE
Christian/FM1II and a group of operators will be active using the special
callsign TO1C during the CQ WW WPX SSB Contest (March 29-30th) and 15 days
afterwards. Plans for activity outside of the contest (for bands and modes) was
not provided. QSL via ON4IQ.
TO5, ST. BARTHELEMY
Members of the RZS Amateur Radio Club (W2RZS) will be active as TO5RZ from March
25th to April 1st. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY,
including 30/17/12 meters. Operators mentioned are Bob/WB2NVR, Mike/WA2VQW,
Bob/N2DVQ and Adam/N2DHH. QSL via W2RZS.
VB3, CANADA
Ron, VA3RVK, will be active using the special callsign VB3E during the period of
March 28th and May 27th. He will mainly use this callsign during the CQ WW WPX
SSB Contest (March 29-30th) and the CQ WW WPX CW Contest (May 24-25th). QSL via

New Hebrides (OC-035) during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 29-30th) as a
Multi-2 entry. QSL route will be announced later.
YO22, ROMANIA (Special Event)
The past fifteen years have witnessed the emergence of new challenges in the
security environment. As a result, the frequency of NATO summit meetings has
increased. From the founding of NATO until 1990 - over forty years - there were
ten summit meetings. The following sixteen years saw eleven more. In total,
twenty-one summit meetings have taken place. Between April 2-4th, the next
summit meeting will in Bucharest, Romania. To mark this event, look for special
event station YO22NATO to be on the air between March 28th and April 9th.
Activity will be on all bands and different modes. QSL via YO3KAA.
