The DX Magazine 2008 Most Wanted Survey is now up and running on the web
site www.dxpub.com/dx_survey2008.html. I would like to stress the need for
everyone to submit your needed countries lists to N4AA, Carl, at The DX
Magazine, because this is what DXpeditioners use to decide where to go.
Check each block as necessary to indicate your needs on the various modes
and click SUBMIT at the bottom. There is also a box at the bottom for
comments. Results will be published in the January/February issue of The DX
Magazine. Oh and please pass this email to your DX club and DX friends.

Solar flare activity was very low all week.

Geomagnetic activity observed for the Australian Region was quiet over the period.

Southern Australian Ionospheric F2 critical frequencies were near predicted to 15 per cent enhanced on 22nd, 26th and 28th; near predicted on 23rd; near predicted to 30 per cent enhanced on 24th and 27th; and near predicted to 20 per cent enhanced on 25th.

Forecast for 29th August to 4th September

Solar activity should be low.

Geomagnetic activity should see quiet conditions.

Frequencies should be mostly near predicted monthly values.

F6EIE and Dan/F6EPD will be active from Sainte-Marie Island
(AF-090) on 18-27 September. They plan to operate on 160-6 metres
as 5R8GM (SSB), 5R8JM (CW) and 5R8IM (digital modes), while 5R8EM

8Q - Igor, UA9KDF will be active as 8Q7FD from the Maldives (AS-013)

CT - The Algarve DX Group will be active with eleven different CT7CA*
callsigns from as many Portuguese castles and fortresses on 6-7

F - Members of the Radio Club Haute Saintonge (F5KLJ) will be active
as TM1MAD from Ile Madame (not IOTA, DIFM AT-024) on 6-7
September. They plan to operate CW, SSB and digital modes on 80-10

HK - Pico, EA7ATX and Juan Luis, EA7AY expect to be in Colombia
starting on 4 September for quite a few weeks. They plan to be
active as HK1AT and to operate from the San Bernardo Islands

I - Marco, IN3UFW and others will operate on all bands and modes as
IN3IPY through the end of the year to celebrate the International

KL - John, KL7HBK might go and be active from Barter Island (NA-050)
"in the next week or two". His schedule is still uncertain, as it

P4 - Roy/W3TEF, Bob/W3BTX and Joop/P43JB will operate again as P41USA
from Aruba (SA-036) on 3-12 September. Expect activity on 160-2
metres. The special callsign marks the anniversary of the tragic

S2 - S21RC, S21AM and other operators from Bangladesh are planning to
be active from St. Martin's Island, in the rare AS-127 IOTA group,
for six days in December. Actual dates and callsign are pending,

SV - The SX8WT activity from Alonnisos Island (EU-072) will be shorter
than previously announced [425DXN 893], and will now take place
from 29 August to 2 September. QSL via SV2HPP. [TNX SV2FPU]
SV - One of the most important founding figures in Western Philosophy,
Aristotle was born 24 centuries ago in Stageira. Commemorating
that event, SV2GWY, SV2XI, SV7HRJ and SW2HQF will be active as
SX24STG during the IARU Region 1 Field Day (6-7 September). QSL
via SV2GWY.
T2 - Aki, JA1KAJ will be active from Tuvalu (OC-015) on 2-8 September.
He plans to operate SSB, CW, RTTY and possibly on PSK31 and SSTV
on 80-10 metres, with a 3-element yagi and a long wire for the low

UA - RA0LD, RU0LL, RU0LM, RW0LBM, RW0LC and RW0LZ will be active as
R0L/p from Opasnyy Island (IOTA status to be determined, RRA

PACIFIC TRIP ---> Ulli, DL2AH and Willis, DJ7RJ are going to Apia, Samoa
(5W) and then to Nukumanu, Tokelau (OC-048) for three weeks, tentatively
starting around 2-5 September. After that, they will return to 5W before
going on to their next destination. DL2AH has a mind to visit Mauna Island
(OC-077), American Samoa between 7 and 27 October and Tonga between 29
October and 9 November. DJ7RJ will fly back to Los Angeles on 21 October.

SCANDINAVIA TOUR ---> Gabi, DF9TM and Frank, DL2SWW will be visiting and
operating from Sweden (SD7M and SD7W), Finland (OH/homecall) and the Aland
Islands (OH0/homecall) between 5 and 23 September. They plan to be active
from IOTA groups EU-002, EU-084, EU-087, EU-096, EU-101 and EU-173.

ARLD036 DX news for 28th August 2008

MONACO, 3A. Patrice, F5RBB will be QRV as 3A/F5RBB from August 31
to September 10. Activity will be on 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters. QSL
to home call.

NAMIBIA, V5. Gus is QRV as V51XG and has been active on 80 meters
around 2345z and then around 0145z. QSL via DL8AL.

MALAWI, 7Q. Ely, IN3VZE is QRV as 7Q7CE from the Southwest shore of
Lake Malawi until September 11. Activity is mostly holiday style on
all bands, using SSB and RTTY. QSL to home call.

MALDIVES, 8Q. Werner, DL1BKK and Gate, DL1BKI are QRV as 8Q7KK
from Kuramathi Island, IOTA AS-013, until September 17. Activity is
on the HF bands holiday style while here during their 40th wedding
anniversary. This includes activity on 6 meters if propagation
permits. QSL via DL1BKK.

CANARY ISLANDS, EA8. George, GM0IIO is QRV as EA8/GM0IIO from Playa
Blanca, Lanzarote Island, IOTA AF-004, until August 31. Activity is
holiday style, mainly on 20 meters using CW and SSB. QSL to home
call.

THAILAND, HS. Chai, E20WXA has been QRV on 20 meters around 1300z.

MARIANA ISLANDS, KH0. Satoshi, N2QP will be QRV as KH0/N2QP from
Saipan, IOTA OC-086, from September 4 to 8. This includes an entry
in the upcoming All Asia SSB DX contest. QSL direct to home call.

ALAND ISLANDS, OH0. Peter, DL5FF and Siegfried, DL9ZE are QRV as
OH0JWL and OH0/DL9ZE, respectively, from Eckeroe Island until
September 7. Activity is on 40, 30, 20 and 15 meters using CW, SSB
and RTTY. QSL to home calls.

NETHERLANDS, PA. In commemoration of 90 years of the history of
Corus Stahl Ijmuiden, special event call PA90CORUS will be QRV from
September 1 to 28. Activity is on all bands and modes. QSL via
PB7CW.

FRANZ JOSEF ISLANDS, R1FJ. Jack is QRV as R1FJT and has been active
on 40 meters around 0030z. QSL via UA4RC.

GREECE, SV. Laci, HA0HW will be QRV as J48HW and SV8/homecall from
Thassos Island, IOTA EU-174, from August 30 to September 10.
Activity will be on the HF bands using mainly CW with some SSB, RTTY
and PSK31. QSL to home call.

SWEDEN, SM. Jorgen, SM3CXS and Steen, SM3NXS are QRV as SG3U and
SD3N, respectively, from Grimskar Island, IOTA EU-176, until August
31. Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using CW and SSB. QSL to home
calls.

DODECANESE, SV5. Fred, PA1FJ will be QRV as SV5/PA1FJ from Kos
Island, IOTA EU-001, from August 31 to September 9. This includes
possible activity from Lighthouse WLOTA LH 1730. QSL to home call.

ASIATIC RUSSIA. A team of operators plan to be QRV as UE0MAC/0,
UA6LP/0 and RZ6MZ/0 from Vrangel Island, IOTA AS-027, beginning the
end of August. Their length of stay is unknown and dependent on the
Arctic weather.

CAMBODIA, XU. Yu, 7K3BKY will be QRV as XU7YYY from Sihanoukville
from September 3 to 8. Activity will be on the HF bands using
mainly CW. This also includes a possible entry in the upcoming All
Asia SSB DX contest. QSL to home call.

ASCENSION ISLAND, ZD8. Steve, G3ZVW is QRV as ZD8N until September
11. Activity is on the HF bands using CW, SSB and RTTY in his
evening hours and on weekends. QSL to home call.

CAYMAN ISLANDS, ZF. Jim, KD3YK will be QRV as ZF2JM from Grand
Cayman from August 30 to September 11. Activity will be on 40 and
20 meters at 1030 to 1200z, and 2130 to 2300z, respectively, using
QRP power on or near the QRP frequencies. QSL via operator's
